5B Special for Andreas.     Another example of the figured poplar from Croatia. These pieces are particularly fine as there is significant 'flaming' as well as the strong 'dark 'eyes'. Andreas wanted the poplar on both sides of the body and separated the facings from the utile core with 3mm layers of rosewood which gives a great contrast. The neck is made from laminates of flamed and rock maples with utile and has 8 carbon fibre rods under the ebony fingerboard. The Kent Armstrong pickups are housed in ebony cases, the control cavity cover is poplar and the control knobs are hand made ebony with poplar tops - lots of fine wood detail. The 3 band EQ is from Glockenklang and features an active/passive switch and a passive tone control that operates in active and passive modes. Hardware is Schaller and gold plated.
