ASAP Bouzouki. Quite rare as I don't get to make very many. Possibly this is due to my idea that a bouzouki with a 'normal' body has very little bass response or projection. When you are trying to be heard in an Irish traditional music session you need all the bass and volume you can get! Sticking a small acoustic guitar body onto a bouzouki neck improves the bass response, resonance, projection and sustain in my experience. Perhaps this does not look 'right' to traditionalists. But when you get a player to try one they are generally converted very quickly. The one in the pictures here has a cedar top onto a khaya mahogany body, an Indian rosewood fingerboard and a Rio rosewood bridge. Machines are Schaller Mni3 fitted to the flamed maple and khaya laminated neck. A Highlander pickup and preamp are fitted.
