ASAP CAW. Another chance to show off some of the beautiful Swiss flamed maple that I have in stock. I found this wood in a veneer works in Basel. Only the very best quality of wood gets used for veneer making so this stuff is exceptional in it's figuring and a little honey tint brings this out to the full. I think this is the first time I have combined this maple with cedar and it works really well in tone and projection. As with all cutaways I built the body slightly deeper to lower the resonant frequency which goes some way to increase the bass which balances the extra treble that a cutaway adds. Binding is rosewood which adds a nice contrast. The neck is utile and flamed maple with a rosewood fingerboard and is shaped rather more like a typical electric neck than an acoustic. Machine heads are the lovely individual Schaller ST6 vintage type.
