A rare animal - the 7 string ASAD. This one uses an Ibanez trem and Seymour Duncan pickups. The top is Imbuya (sometimes known as Brazilian walnut) onto a mahogany core finished in silk lacquer. The neck is a laminate of flamed maple and mahogany with an Indian rosewood fingerboard that houses high, wide and very hard Dunlop 6100 frets - ideal for rock 'n' roll. I think the ASAD shape and proportions really suits a seven string layout. A year or so after he had this guitar made Bart's band got an endorsement from a well known guitar factory. Part of the deal involved only being seen with 'their' guitars so I think this one only gets used in the studio now. |
