 Brian's ASAS Semi. Brian plays a lot of jazz in different styles but also wants to be able to 'rock' a bit when required so he went for an ASAS Semi which is built in the same way and from the same materials as the ASAS and ASAST archtop jazzers (hand carved spruce archtop and flamed maple back and sides) but with a centre core of cedar. This allows the pickups to be mounted on the top and reduces feedback while still allowing rich jazz tones and bite when needed. The neck is a five piece laminate of flamed maple and walnut while the tail, scratchplate and headstock veneer are made from figured walnut. Brian designed the 'F' holes and made many detail changes to my standard ASAS Semi. It looks good and plays beautifully. |
