This is the guitar I built for myself a couple of years ago.
I used a piece of my Irish walnut for the deeply carved top
(from a tree that was felled in a storm in 1983) and the
back is Brazillian mahogany. The neck is a laminate of very
well flamed maple with a centre strip of Irish walnut. My
first 'serious' guitar (a 1961 Gibson SG) has P90 pickups
and I liked them then (and still do) so this is what I used.
The mini switch connects the two pickups in series and sends
the output directly to the volume control regardless of the
selector. The resulting midrange boost really hits the
amp!
