Robin's ASAP Solid 12 string. Robin has an ASAP Solid six string with MIDI that he uses as his main onstage guitar but he wanted a 12 for certain numbers. Finished in dramatic gloss black (a bugger to photograph!) the body is alder (hollowed out to keep the weight down) and the neck is maple. The false soundhole is MOP which, with the ivoroid body binding, helps to define the shape of the instrument. Robin had his initials inlaid on the ebony fingerboard and asked me to inlay my signature in MOP too. Machines are modified Schaller mandolin (lightweight) and the pickup is a Highlander. It was possible to set this guitar up with a very low action so it plays like an electric but with a slightly wider neck. Huge wide shimmering sound with no feedback at high volume.
