Freddy's Sc6 Freddy owns more of my basses than is good for him. He and I went through lots of ideas when he wanted a singlecut 6 string and this is the result. Figured myrtle is the overlay and it is fitted full width onto a sycamore core. The neck is a lamination of flamed maple in the centre (tapered from 40mm to 15 mm) with rock maple, and strips of Honduran mahogany and sapele. There are carbon fibre bars and a truss rod under the rosewood fingerboard. A touch of luxury comes from fitting rosewood control knobs and pickup covers. I made the covers and Aaron Armstrong fitted the coils and magnets. With the pickup coils wired in parallel the tonal range is extended like single coils but the pickups are still humbucking and the EBS Pre makes the most of the possibilities.
