I had one last piece of my old stock of Oregon walnut left in mid 2004 and I used this to build an ASAPJ. I added a few extra details such as a figured walnut bridge, extra purling on the three piece back, flamed maple binding with a walnut lamination and a flamed maple/walnut neck. The top is western red cedar. What else? My preferred Highlander pickup system is installed and the Schaller vintage style open backed machines are fitted. Finish is silk lacquer. This was a special guitar that looked good enough to eat and played and sounded equally well!
